Tools use the map selected when you connected unless you change it with switch_map. Your assistant chooses and calls tools from your conversational request.

Session & help

Writes & confirmation

Most tools that change data first stage an operation. The response includes a preview diff and an operation ID; review that diff before asking the assistant to confirm it. Destructive operations follow this pattern, while the tools explicitly marked “immediately” above run without a separate confirmation.

Pending operations expire after 5 minutes. An expired operation must be staged again.
